What Sponsorship Means To Me

Muniabarathy lives in India and became a sponsored child when she was eight years old. To Muniabarathy, sponsorship is a special gift, one that has changed her life.

“I credit sponsorship for all of the new skills I have developed,” she shares. “As an eldest child in the family, I would have had to quit school to assist my mother on the farm. But thanks to CCFC and sponsorship, my life is on a different path now.”

As a sponsored child, Muniabarathy was also supported financially for a throat surgery she recently needed: “I was able to bounce back quickly after my health scare,” she reveals.

In Muniabarathy’s village, CCFC is supporting the community at every level, and has provided the village with a clean source of drinking water. This has significantly reduced diseases such as jaundice, urinary and kidney-related infections and ailments. CCFC has also implemented an early warning system to help the community be better prepared in the event of disasters. Microcredit and housing loans have expanded livelihood opportunities for families in this village.

What We Do

We work to protect and improve the lives of children by helping them realize their basic human rights – nutritious food, clean water, health care and education. We empower children to grow up confident, know their rights, be active in the community, and take the lead in their own change.
